Yijong Suh is professor of sociology and STS studies at Seoul National University.
His expertise is in the areas of social, ethical & legal issues (ELSI) of IT and BT. Suh has academic and social leadership of institutionalizing privacy issues, online communities and now good death in Korean and Asian context. He has worked as SNU computer center vice-president, SNU Library director, committee member of National Human Right Agency, and policy committee chair of National Civil Movement of Well-Dying etc. His current research uncovers how good death matters in contemporry society with high speed of aging and technological advancement. Results of this research are briefly "new privacy issues of mobile phone", "new ethical issues of human experimentation of unit 731 Imperial-Japanese army", "ethical & legal issues of decision-making and hospice in end of life" "social inequality of dying process" etc. When not at work, he enjoys climbing and travel.
