Hong-Jung Kim is a professor of sociology at Seoul National University.
He is graduated from EHESS (École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales) in Paris, France. After teaching in Daegu University, he has taught and worked in SNU since 2010. His research areas are in two streams. First, he is interested in social theory, in particular, survival modernity to explain the social transformation of Korea. Second, he is interested in sociology of culture, in which youth generation of Korea and sociology of dream has been the most researched theme in the stream.
